Governor Vacancy - Trust Appointed
Melbourne Primary School is part of the Wolds Learning Partnership. The Local Governing Body at Melbourne Primary School has two Governor vacancies – at this time we are not looking to recruit parent governors as all parent governor vacancies are full. Governors play a key role in the school. Working as a team to provide support and challenge and influencing strategies. We are hoping that members of the community will nominate themselves or others and help us by contributing ideas and influencing decision-making. Outlines of procedures for nominations are set out below, but please feel free to contact me directly to talk informally about being a School Governor. The Local Governing Body is made up of parents, teachers and other members of the community. Twice per term the Governing Body meets to support the work of the school, and together with the Head of School is responsible for making sure that the school provides a good standard of education for pupils. Cleaner

We are seeking to appoint a cleaner to join our team at Melbourne primary School. This post will suit someone ideally with some previous experience of working in a school or commercial setting as a cleaner. It is for 12.5 hours per week (2.5 hours per day) outside of school hours.
You will need to be a team player who can work to a high standard, whilst possessing the appropriate skills to work independently and proactively. You will also need to be approachable, enthusiastic, flexible, and committed to providing a clean and safe environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

After School Club Co-ordinator
Start date - TBC (pending satisfactory DBS and reference check).

- 12.5 hours per week (3-5.30pm). Term time only.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our talented and committed team as a Play Co-ordinator in our After School Club at Melbourne Primary School.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and effective running of the after–school club, professional responsibilities will include:
· Ensuring the delivery of creative play opportunities in a well-organised, safe and caring environment
· Planning and preparing a suitable programme of activities
· Responsibility for the administration of the club, keeping relevant records
· Preparation of food (snacks) in line with food safety guidelines
· Supervision and daily management of staff employed by the club
· Ensuring the safety children and adopting safeguarding practices
· Ensuring that the behaviour of the children is in line with school policies
· Effective and professional communication with parents, the headteacher and staff
· Carrying out all responsibilities and activities in accordance with the school’s agreed policies
· Undertaking any other duties that may reasonably be regarded as being commensurate with the grade and general purpose of the post
We would like to hear from applicants that have or are working towards an NVQ level 2 or 3 in Teaching Support, Play work or Childcare however other experience will be considered. The successful candidate may be required to participate in training and CPD.

Kitchen Assistant
Start date - 1st December 2023

- 10 hours per week (11.30am-1.30pm Mon - Fri). Term time only.
An opportunity has arisen to join our talented and committed team as a Kitchen Assistant. We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague who would thrive in our school kitchen and assist in the delivery of high quality school meals for school children.
Successful candidates will be responsible for the day-to-day duties connected to the service of food for lunch at the School. This will include:
- The serving of food in line with the requirements of good practice in hygiene, health & safety and food safety management. Including specific dietary needs and allergen awareness.
- Assisting in unloading and correct storage of food, this may include checking the quality and temperatures of foods.
- General kitchen and dining room duties, including preparing the kitchen and hall for service. This may include moving and setting up furniture, washing up, setting up and clearing away equipment and tables.
- Cleaning of the kitchen, its surrounds and equipment.
- Where required, undertaking training to facilitate the duties of the job.

School Direct Initial Teacher Training Recruitment for September 2023
The Wonder Institute of Education is delighted to be able to offer school direct ITT teacher training placements for September 2023. These placements are for graduates or final year university students to apply for an opportunity to pursue a career in teaching. We currently have vacancies in the following areas:

By choosing to study with the Wonder Institute of Education, you will be placed in two primary schools from our three Trust primaries, which includes Melbourne Primary School, Pocklington Juniors School or Stamford Bridge Primary School. The course displayed on the government application site, simply states Primary but we clarify which route you wish to take during the interview process.
