Multi Academy Trust
Academy Status -September 2018
At Melbourne we aim to provide the best possible education for all our children and to develop lifelong learners, with a strong ethos underpinning all we do. We believe our success is supported by our strong partnership with local primary schools and our feeder secondary school. The Governing Body explored a range of options to secure the best future for our school and following their unanimous agreement, Melbourne Community Primary actively pursued conversion to academy status enabling us to join a Multi Academy Trust.
Woldgate School and Sixth Form College set up a Multi Academy Trust (MAT) called the Wolds Learning Partnership (WLP) with Stamford Bridge Primary and Pocklington Community Junior Schools.
We are pleased to announce that Melbourne Community Primary School converted to an Academy on 1st September 2018 - joining the Wolds Learning Partnership.
This is an exciting and positive step forward and means that our school will be work closely with the other schools in the Trust. The distinct character of our school will be protected and there will be no apparent change in the day to day running of our school. However, being part of the MAT will allow us to work even more effectively and efficiently, to share best practice within and across the schools and to improve outcomes for all of our children.
