We are very lucky at our school to have such wonderful outdoor spaces. We have three hard surface play areas. This includes: a large playground with a climbing wall, a smaller playground for enjoying ball games and a quiet area with a multitude of seating areas and games for the children to enjoy and relaxing in.
On our field area, we have a variety of zones for the children to share together. We have a music station, stepping stone zone, climbing area, obstacle course and climbing frame.
The bottom of the field houses our wonderful outdoor classroom set in a woodland environment. We also have a bird hide, gigantic tyres to climb on, a mud kitchen, fire circle and countless dens the children have designed, made and played in together. Behind our school field there is the Melbourne Canal. It is lovely for the children to spot flora and fauna as well as a couple of walkers throughout the day.
Each class heads to the forest school area at least once a week. We try to go out whatever the weather, so weatherproofs are recommended.
