Bird Competition (closed)
The Big Schools’ Bird Watch runs from the 3rd of January to the 17th of February. This year we will be asking the children to collect data on the birds that visit and live in our school grounds. Not only is this a fantastic opportunity for the children to develop real life science and maths data collection and analysis skills but it also gives them a chance to learn about and observe the wildlife in their community.
We would also like to incorporate an art competition to coincide with this event.
Children are invited to produce a drawing, painting, collage or photograph of their favourite British Bird, (no bigger than A4). Children will be allowed to submit one entry each which needs their name, age and class clearly printed on the back of their work.
The closing date for entries will be on Friday 10th February and the finalists will be announced at the celebration assembly on Friday 17th February.
Our resident bird expert, Mrs Charlton, and Emma-Jane Whelan (Local artist) will be judging the competition.
