Yorkshire Schools Dance Festival

Congratulations to nineteen of our Year 4 and 5 children for taking the Yorkshire Schools Dance Festival by storm on Sunday 18th November 2018!!! The theme of the show was ‘Changes’ and we got to observe many different interpretations of this, from students much older than our cohort! Miss Welsh – our amazing P.E. teacher (dance and gymnastics trained and former dance professional!) choreographed a fun piece entitled, ‘Dancing through the decades like there’s nobody watching you’. It ranged from the jive of the 1940s to current day R’n’B and hip hop moves up to the noughties. Thanks Miss Welsh! Super cool! Also, a huge thanks to Mr Richardson for coordinating all the technology with the video and soundtrack, both perfectly synchronised with the amazing routine.

Our ecstatic children not only performed, but they harnessed their nerves, feeding off their adrenaline, and gave it their all, with big smiles on their faces. They did themselves, their parents and us proud! This is the first time we have participated in this amazing event and it will not be the last, along with many new sport initiatives.
