Changes to the 2016 SATs test
In the summer term 2016, children at the end of Key Stage 1 and 2 will sit new SATs papers. That means that if your child is in Year 2 or Year 6 they will be among the first pupils to take the new test. SATs have been overhauled in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 to reflect the changes to the national curriculum, which was introduced from September 2014.
Children will take SATs in:
- English grammar, punctuation and spelling
These tests will be both set and marked externally, and the results will be used to measure the school’s performance (for example, through reporting to Ofsted and published league tables). Your child’s marks will be used in conjunction with teacher assessment to give a broader picture of their attainment.
We will be holding a Parent Information Evenings about the new SATs tests:
Year 6 Tuesday 2nd February 2016 at 4.30-5.30
Year 2 Wednesday 3rd February 2016 at 4.30-5.30
