Woldgate & Melbourne - Music & Science WOrkshop
On Wednesday 8th February, the Woldgate Music department, accompanied by the Woodwind group, visited a Science lesson at Melbourne Primary School. The lesson was based on the topic of how sound works and why different instruments produce different sounds and have different tone qualities.
The Woodwind group consists of pupils and students from all year groups and we also had some solos from one or two key instrumentalists.
Mrs Forman who is the science coordinator at Melbourne described the afternoon as “a new and engaging way to teach children science. It was also great to see some former pupils playing at such and high standard”.
